U2 - Angel of Harlem

Angel of harlem es el segundo single del disco de u2 “rattle and hum”. Fue escrita en homenaje a Billie Holiday. Tiene varias versiones hechas por el grupo, la letra también cuenta con referencias a diferentes lugares de N.Y, (Heartbreak hotel,el aeropuerto Jfk, Harlem etc) Una especie de guía de lonley planet pero musical.
También hace referencia a grandes cantantes como Miles Davis o la heroína de la canción, Lady day (Billie Holiday).

Angel of harlem fue escrita durante el tour de Joshua tree..a su llegada a N.Y. Se convirtío en un tema interpretado de manera muy habitual en el lovetown tour, pero poco despúes fue condenado al olivido por sus autores. A pesar de que BB king realizó una versión. U2 decidió olvidarlo en un cajón. 
En 2005 fue una de las últimas veces que U2 interpretó esta canción, fue durante un concierto en la que un fan fue seleccionado para elegir la canción que la banda debería tocar a continuación. Aunque Bono en un principio trató de disuadirle, ya que el mismo dijo que la canción era pobre en significado, la banda aceptó el requerimiento.
Fue en Australia durante el vértigo tour, cuando Bono decidió dedicar a una invitada especial a su concierto aussie. No podía ser otra que Kylie Minogue, finalizando la canción con un estribillo de Kylie adaptado a la canción. 

En Berlin durante la gira del 360º tres jovens fans de Praga fueron invitados a tocar la canción junto a sus ídolos, Ya que en el mismo escenario y de improvisto se identificaron como una banda de rock fanática de U2. Los jóvenes le volvieron a pedir a Bono este Angel of harlem, pero este haciendo participes a sus fans, invitó al resto de la banda a que les prestasen sus instrumentos y tocar la canción juntos..así lo hicieron.
