Guns N Roses - Sweet Child of Mine (History)

Todos en la vida tenemos un tema especial, no sé si el preferido..pero hay uno, sólo uno..que por algún motivo no te cansas de escuchar..este es el mío.
Desde que fue posible personalizar el tono de los teléfonos móviles, lo adopté para que me acompañase.Recuerdo que al principio,  tenías que componer el tono tú mismo mediante unos rudimentarios pitidos en forma de notas..tardé una semana en sacar la canción. Hoy muchísimos años después y con tecnología a años luz, sigue siendo mi tono.
Fuera ya de historias personales que os habrán aburrido....

¿Dónde podéis encontrar esta joya?..Sweet Chil o Mine es el tercer sencillo del albúm de debut de Guns Appetite for destruction.(1987)
La canción surgió un día en el estudio de ensayo de la banda(el salón de baile de Huntington beach). Axl se encontraba en el piso de arriba, escribiendo letras para ajustar a alguna canción todavía por componer. En esa época Axl se encontraba profundamente enamorado de Erin Everly. 
Steven Adler (Batería) y Slash estaban afinando los instrumentos, jugando con ellos, improvisando en una aparente locura en la cual nada tenía sentido. Ante un comentario jocoso de Duff (Bajista).."Vaya circo teneís montando" Slash comenzó a improvisar los primeros acordes, intentando emular una melodía de circo en broma.
Stradling, el genial guitarrista rítmico y compositor de los temas más grandes de los Guns, inquirió a Slash para que tocara de nuevo ese riff..y allí comenzó un Jam Session( sesión de improvisación).
Axle bajó a reunirse con sus compañeros tan pronto como se percató de lo que allí se estaba gestando.
5 minutos después la canción estaba terminada
En una entrevista con Eddie Trunk show 's radio de Nueva York en mayo de 2006, Axl Rose aseguró que su concepto original para el video, se centró en el tema de tráfico de drogas . Según Rose, el video debería representar a una mujer asiática, que lleva a un bebé en un país extranjero. Al final se descubriría que el niño estaba muerto y relleno de cocaína . Este concepto fue rechazado por Geffen Records .

Quisieron entonces los guns realizar un video fiel a cómo se compuso la canción, por ello se rodó en el mismo lugar en el que se compuso. En él, al tratarse de una oda a las parejas de los componentes del grupo, aparecen todas sus chicas. La mentada Erin Everly hija de Don Everly componente del grupo The Everly Brothers. También aparece Mandy Duff componente de un no muy conocido grupo de rock, incluso el perro de Izzy aparece en el video.

Existió una gran controversia con la edición de la canción. Las emisoras de Radio recortaron el solo de guitarra del maestro, lo cual ocasionó un gran malestar en el grupo...Axl declaró a la revista Rolling Stone.

"Mi voz no la cortan, pero mi parte favorita de la canción el el solo de Slash, es la parte más heavy de la canción, no hay ninguna razón para que falte,excepto para dejar hueco los anunciantes claro,así los dueños de las emisoras ganarán más dinero por publicidad"
Aún así la edición fue lanzada en vinilo de 7 pulgadas como "remix" mientras que el LP contenía la versión buena (Larga).
Esta versión a cargo de Slash es una rareza de las pocas que han respetado su esencia original.

Aunque existen infinidad de versiones, he de reconocer que personalmente ninguna de ellas me agrada, ya que el espíritu comercial que han tratado insuflar a la canción, le hace perder esa magia y fuerza que te hace galopar la sangre por la venas la primera vez que la escuchas...No seré yo quién difunda tales sacrilegios, pero la información de su existencia aquí queda.

We all in the life have a special song, I don´t know  if it is the favorite one .. but there is one, only one .. that for any motive, you do not get tired of listening .. this one is mine. Izzy Stradling the brilliant rhythmic guitarist and composer of the biggest topics of the Guns investigated Slash, in order that it was touching again this riff .. and there it began a Jam Session. Axl went down to meeting his companions as soon as he noticed what there was in preparation. 5 minutes later the song was finished. In an interview with Eddie Trunk show ' s radio of New York in May, 2006, Axl Rose assured that his original concept for the video, centred on the topic of traffic of drugs. According to Rose, the video should represent an Asian woman, who takes a baby in a foreign country, Ultimately there would be discovered that the child was dead and landfill of cocaine. This concept was rejected by Geffen Records.They wanted then the guns to realize a faithful video to how the song consisted, by it it was rolled in the same place in it consisted. In it, on having treated itself about an ode to the cupels of the components of the group, all his girls appear.
